Our Mission

Making Education Accessible... with short and fun videos, taught by great teachers, we help students easily master any subject and achieve their educational goals. The cost of college education is skyrocketing, rising faster than inflation — faster even than health care costs. We're building the solution: online courses that lead to real college credit — credit that is already accepted at over 2,900 colleges and universities. We're completely re-imagining online education as a visually stimulating, engaging, multimedia experience made specifically for the web user, and we're building our courses from the ground up. Over 500 world-class educators, video editors, and animators are working to create the fun and engaging 10-minute video lessons that make up each course. More than 15 million students have flocked to our courses, and both students and instructors alike are hungry for more. How we got started: In 2002, Cal Poly students Ben and Adrian were frustrated with the rising cost of college and the lack of tools for empowering students. They decided to team up and start Study.com with the mission of making education accessible. After over a decade of work, Study.com is now a profitable, self-funded company that reaches over 15 million students a month. Our video-based online courses are the fastest and most affordable way to earn college credit and consist of over 10,000 fun and engaging lessons. We've also created comprehensive guidance counseling resources to help students save money and make informed decisions with their education and careers.

Core Values

We believe that everyone has the right to an affordable, quality education. As a society, we uphold the notion that it's a good thing — the very basis of hope and the key to the promise of upward mobility. But brutally high fees and an educational system slow to realize that everyone learns differently have created a paradox. Learning should be fun and accessible to everyone, but in many cases, it simply isn't. At Study.com, we aim to deliver a better way to learn — one that lets you learn what you want, the way you want, and in a way you can afford. We want to empower you to become that better version of yourself education is supposed to allow. We're proud to be helping 30 million students each month. As part of our mission, we offer several annual academic scholarships and regularly make direct donations to schools and charities including: FirstBook, Minds Matter, The Posse Foundation, Pride Foundation, and Room to Read. Be Exceptional "Everything at Study.com starts with our people. We attract individuals that passionately attack problems, are not afraid to try big new things and are never satisfied with the status quo. Everyone who works here is expected to be exceptional and the people we bring on are expected to raise the bar even higher. Only with exceptional individuals can we achieve exceptional teams and products, and ultimately our goal of making education accessible for all." - Kevin (Director of Product) Simplify "From day one, everyone has an opportunity to make significant contributions at study.com. Our regular Innovation Fridays and twice yearly hackathons give everyone time in the schedule to do all the work that REALLY needs to happen." - Jim (Director of Engineering) Embrace Data "There is art and science to creating an effective learning platform students and teachers will love. At Study.com, we embrace data and are constantly testing new designs and product features to see how users interact. We combine creativity and behavioral data to make the best possible experience for our users." - Jen (Director of Creative Service) Get Things Done "I have never worked any place where more gets done. In less than 3 years, we built a library of over 10,000 engaging video lessons and a platform to share it with millions of students worldwide. At our engineering off-site, we took a break to reflect on our achievements. Everyone I spoke with during the event was truly amazed at what we had accomplished. Sure, we discussed what needed to be improved, or what could have been done differently. But at the end of the day we had achieved greatness and never let perfect get in the way. It is this spirit of getting things done at Study.com that makes working here every day so enjoyable." - Glen (Director of Engineering & BI)

Vacation & Benefits

We stay healthy with comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits. We are smart with our money with a strong 401(k) option. We relax and blow off steam with plenty of flexible time off and vacation days. 20 days of flexible PTO per year. This increases to 30 days over 5 years. Additional 10 paid holidays annually. Plus, a fully subsidized Caltrain pass. Tuition reimbursement and gift matching programs. It's not enough spending 8 hours a day together, we enjoy working together so much that we hang out all the time outside the office. We have frequent team events, a holiday party, a beach day, baseball outings, a book club, team bowling and volleyball, and more! We get fed. A lot. On top of a fully-stocked kitchen with free chow, we get catered lunch every Wednesday, in-office and off-site Happy Hours every friday, and a mid-week "beer cart" that delivers a frosty brew to our desks. And the beer cart has blinking lights, so there's that. We work off all those meals with free gym memberships, usable at multiple locations around the Silicon Valley. Basically, we are all ripped.
